Customer Service Advisor
Location: Belfast
Pay Rate: £13.97 - £32.55 per hour (depending on shift pattern)
Contract: Temporary, ongoing
Start Date: 05 May 2026
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days over 7, including weekends & bank holidays)
About the Role
We're offering a rare opportunity to join the UK's largest and most trusted telecoms provider, supporting critical emergency services that operate 24/7, 365 days a year.
In this role, you'll be supporting 999/112 emergency calls, Directory Enquiries (118500), and Relay UK, helping ensure people get the right help when they need it most. This is not a standard call‑handling role-it's a vital public service position where your calmness, accuracy and empathy can genuinely save lives.
You'll work with people who may have communication difficulties, providing real‑time voice‑to‑text support with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact during critical and emergency situations
- Accurately route callers to the appropriate emergency service
- Type real‑time conversations with high speed and accuracy
- Remain calm, focused and empathetic under pressure
- Follow structured processes and protocols at all times
What We're Looking For
You'll thrive in this role if you can:
- Communicate clearly, calmly and empathetically
- Stay composed in emotionally challenging situations
- Follow procedures accurately and consistently
- Type at least 50 words per minute with 98% accuracy
- Work confidently as part of a 24/7 operational team
Shift Patterns
- 4‑week rotating rota
- Shifts scheduled between 10am to 9pm; 12pm to 11pm; or 2 week rotation of 8am to 7pm and 12pm to 11pm.
- Includes some weekend working and rest days
- Designed to support a range of lifestyles
Training
- Full‑time paid training: 37.5 hours per week for 4 weeks
- Training may include mornings and evenings
- 100% attendance required for the first 4 weeks
