Blue Arrow Bristol are recruiting Class 1 drivers to work for a well known transport and logistics company based in Portbury near Bristol (BS20). The roles are ongoing and full-time - you will be employed through Blue Arrow and work at the same client on an ongoing basis. We can only accept PAYE drivers - no limited company or Umbrella drivers, sorry. The roles are working Monday to Friday and the start times will be between 5-7am. We are currently sourcing for a Senior Building Control Surveyor for our local Authority client based in Bristol. The role is to enforce the Building Regulations and allied legislation in the capacity as a Registered Building inspector. Manage development proposals through the Building Control process from the preapplication stage through to completion on site of applications deposited to the Local Authority or as required as part of a multi-disciplinary team for the Building Safety Regulator. Act as technical adviser and decision maker on Building Control and other related issues, whilst acting as lead officer on major Building Regulation applications. Days of Work: Monday to Friday Hours of Work: 09.00 - 17.00 Contract: Permanent Start Date: 16th December 2024 Initiate &amp; lead the development team approach for major projects to ensure that: The application decision, is lawful, and is compliant with the aims and objectives of Central Government policy, corporate initiatives, and third parties' aspirations. lead on building control matters at the request of the building safety Regulator as part of the multi-disciplinary team on High-Risk Buildings; co-ordinating with the various key contacts within the MDT/BSR to ensure all obligations under the Building Safety Act and associated legislation. Participate in, and where applicable lead, in corporate, partnership &amp; stakeholder groups to achieve performance plan outcomes on time &amp; within budget constraints Maintain a detailed knowledge of the building regulations, structural engineering, fire engineering, or other specialism relevant to The team to which the post-holder is allocated, ensuring consistency and accuracy of professional interpretation, and act as professional expert. Interpret Central Government guidance &amp; Building Control policy, including the preparation &amp; organisation of the council's case to justify its decision(s) including at appeals &amp; determinations submitted to Central Government &amp; at court proceedings. Ensure that Building Control revenues are maximised by maintaining our market share, through efficient invoicing and the determination of applications within prescribed time periods. As part of the service planning process for the Building Control Team, explore, devise &amp; present technical justification to management team, for specific project proposals. Work in an ethical way, where compliance with regulations is the primary task and winning new work secondary, not bidding for new work on the basis of interpretation Provide technical oversight and training of class 2 building control surveyors assisting by working under supervision on complex schemes. To provide oversight and coordination of all business support and administration processes that contribute towards the safe and effective running of the Executive Board Director's office and portfolio. To ensure the provision of a fully comprehensive administrative and business support service working closely with the executive board director to remove unnecessary demands and pressures, working in a professional, efficient and confidential manner.
