About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Second Chef /Sous Chef, for a busy contract catering operation in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented culinary professional with a passion for delivering outstanding food and exceptional service standards.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a Second Chef /Sous Chef, ideally within a fresh-food environment, high-end contract catering, or an in-house catering setting.
You will be reporting to chef manager to assist for him in the managing of kitchen operations, maintaining high food quality standards, and leading the team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
This is a temp-to-permanent opportunity, starting through Blue Arrow agency before transferring to a permanent position with the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the deliver high-quality, freshly prepared food across all service areas.
- Maintain exceptional customer service and hospitality standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations.
- Manage kitchen administration and use IT systems effectively.
Working Hours
- Full-time position
- Monday to Friday
- No split shifts
- Occasional evening functions
- Flexible working hours between 7:00am and 5:00pm
- 40 hours per week
- Immediate starts available
- Full time Start date September - Availability from August needed
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2/3 (706/2/3) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Previous experience as a Sous/Second chef
- Strong organisational skills.
- Passion for food, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and allergen management.
- Enthusiastic and proactive approach.
