Technical Support Agent
Location: Ashby-de-la-Zouch (Office-based)
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (1-hour paid lunch)
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Agent to join a busy and growing support team on an initial temporary basis of at least 3 months. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in software or technical support who is confident dealing with customers and looking to gain experience within a structured support environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming support queries
- Handle customer enquiries via phone and live chat
- Log and raise support tickets for the wider technical team
- Provide clear, professional communication and manage customer expectations
- Escalate issues appropriately and ensure accurate documentation
- Confidently advise customers when further investigation or follow-up is required
Requirements
- Previous experience in technical or software support (essential)
- Strong communication skills and confidence handling customer calls
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced support environment
- Strong attention to detail when logging and managing tickets
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting ERP systems
- Exposure to structured support/helpdesk environments
Additional Information
- This role will initially be office-based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch
- Full training will be provided on specific areas of the product set
- While this is a temporary position, there may be potential for longer-term opportunities for the right candidate
