Catering Assistant

We are currently recruiting Catering Assistants to support food service operations within a busy university environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.

You will be involved in the day-to-day preparation and service of food and beverages for students, staff, and visitors across campus dining facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of food and beverages
• Serving food and drinks in a friendly and professional manner
• Operating tills and handling cash or card payments where required
• Ensuring all food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards are followed
• Clearing tables, washing up, and maintaining clean kitchen and service areas
• Stock rotation and basic replenishment of supplies
• Supporting colleagues during busy service periods

What We're Looking For

• Previous catering or customer service experience
• A positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including mornings, evenings, or weekends
• A basic Food Hygiene Certificate is an advantage

• This role is based on a university campus
• A DBS is required for this role (If you don't have one this may be provided)
