Chef - Contract Catering (Winchester)

£14.74 per hour - £30,900 per annum

Full‑time | 40 hours per week | 52.2 weeks per year

Are you a passionate and skilled chef looking for a stable, well‑structured role with great work‑life balance? Join our contract catering team in Winchester, where you'll help deliver high‑quality, fresh, nutritious food in a professional and supportive environment.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to required standards, specifications, and portion sizes
  • Running your own section of the kitchen to consistently high levels
  • Ensuring all dishes meet strict food safety, hygiene, and client compliance standards
  • Following food information regulations and completing food safety checks
  • Supporting, training, and directing Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants
  • Recovering and storing food correctly to minimise waste
  • Assisting with food orders, stock rotation, delivery receipt, and storage
  • Maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and surrounding work areas
  • Ensuring all machinery and equipment is used correctly and safely
  • Carrying out general duties as required to support smooth and efficient food service

Who You Are

  • Passionate about cooking fresh, high‑quality food
  • Strong, consistent background as a Chef de Partie or similar
  • A good motivator and strong team player
  • Excellent culinary skills with outstanding attention to detail
  • Creative, with an awareness of modern food trends and presentation styles
  • Confident in all aspects of food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen compliance
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and calm under pressure
  • Well‑presented with great communication and customer‑facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Enhanced DBS required (must be willing to wait several weeks for processing)
