Waste Operative - Loader needed!!

* Salary: £15.58 per hour
* Location: Devon, EX2
* Hours: Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm
* Till October 2025 with the possibility of extension

MAIN PURPOSE

To support the Waste Operations service through the safe, effective operation of Class C Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) or equivalent to load and transport controlled waste.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (MDR)

1. To drive and load all waste collection vehicles on scheduled collection rounds as instructed and in accordance with the current team task and finish scheme.
2. To ensure that all processes / collections are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety procedures and the Drivers' Handbook.
3. To ensure that all tachograph regulations are adhered with.
4. All Road Traffic Regulations are adhered with.
5. To ensure the vehicle is in good working order, vehicle defects are recorded correctly and subsequent procedures are carried out appropriately. Vehicle cleanliness is upheld daily / weekly.
6. To use in-cab communication technology to follow instructions and to record work completed and record incidents such as blocked streets, bins not presented for collection etc.
7. To hold the appropriate driving licence, undergo any required training and maintain a driver's Certificate of Professional Competence.
8. To oversee the crew, ensuring that all performance / disciplinary matters are escalated appropriately.
9. To assist the loaders with the collection and emptying of bins and sacks.
10. Required to work 5 days out of 7 days, including Saturdays to catch-up with collections after bank holiday's / Christmas or severe weather disruptions.

HGV Class 1 Drivers Required
Grade F Scale 13

Valid DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
Valid DTC (Digital tachograph Card)
Must have own safety boots
