Mechanic Northern Ireland Fire &amp; Rescue Service Belfast Temporary - up to 6 months with possible extension £19.11 per hour Accurate Sector Selection in Broadbean: Mechanical Structure: About the Role To work as a Mechanical Engineering technician as part of the Fleet Mechanical &amp; Engineering teams within the three regional workshops to ensure service delivery of all specialist operational equipment and vehicles is met at all times. The Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) is responsible for the Inspection, diagnostics, planned maintenance, emergency repair, bodywork, Coach building and modification to all vehicles and equipment within the NIFRS fleet of Vehicles and Operational equipment. Whilst on call the MET will be expected to make all repair decisions unsupervised on all aspects of the vehicle and equipment repair. 5. Responsible for carrying out PSV/MOT Inspection to all blue light vehicles to the standard laid down within Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency and the UK National Fire Chief Council utilising NIFRS exemption and "signing" the vehicle as safe to be on the road. Candidate Requirements Essential 1. Possess a certified level 3 trade qualification as depicted in the NQF in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance. And Have at least two years' post apprentice experience working in a trade role in their area of expertise which includes heavy vehicle. 2. Must demonstrate experience in plant mechanics and light vehicle repair. 3. Level 3 qualification as depicted in the NQF in vehicle system repair and replacement in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles. 4. Qualified to safely install, maintain and fault find both 240v and 110v electrical systems on vehicles and equipment. 5. Must demonstrate excellent record keeping of computerised repair and inspection data. 6. Competent in the use of IT software and computer systems. 7. Competent in the use of a Management Information System (MIS) for record keeping on repair data. 8. Possess a current UK C Class driving licence. Additional requirements: 1. Applicant must participate in the Regional Engineering on call Rota which involves working antisocial hours including weekends and late nights in order to support emergency response operations. 2.
